About & costs

Made by a UPS Teamster.
Run on coffee money.

The straight story on who runs this, what it costs, what it can do, and what it can't.

Why this exists

The contract that protects you is hundreds of pages spread across the National Master Agreement, your regional supplement, and your local rider. Most members never read it — and the company counts on that. This site puts a knowledgeable helper in every member's pocket: ask a question in plain English, get the answer with the article it came from, so you can check it yourself and bring it to your steward.

What it costs & how donations are used

This project is built and paid for out of pocket by one UPS Teamster — no local, no grant, no company money (obviously). The recurring bills are the AI subscription that powers the assistants, the domain, and occasional document/printing costs. It's roughly a few hundred dollars a year, and every answer you get costs real money on that subscription.

Donations are appreciated, never required. There is no paywall, no ad, no premium tier, and there never will be. If the Ko-fi jar ever overflows, the surplus goes toward upgrades — first on the list is fully embedded chat on this site so members wouldn't need a ChatGPT account at all.

What it is — and what it isn't

  • It is an information tool that reads the actual 2023–2028 contract documents and federal driver regulations, and cites what it quotes.
  • It is not legal advice, not official union advice, and not a substitute for your steward. AI makes mistakes — always verify anything important against the cited article or with a real representative.
  • It is independent and unofficial: not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, any Teamsters local union, or United Parcel Service, Inc. All contract documents come from the unions' own public postings.

Privacy

This website doesn't require an account and doesn't see your conversations. Chats happen inside ChatGPT, in your account, under OpenAI's terms and privacy policy. Common sense applies: don't paste Social Security numbers, medical records, or anything you wouldn't put in an email.

Accuracy & currency

Contract documents were last pulled from official sources and verified on . Contracts pick up memoranda and amendments mid-term; documents are re-checked quarterly. Spot something wrong? Tell me — the fastest fix is a member who knows better.

For locals whose contracts aren't covered

Locals 705 and 41 negotiate or maintain agreements that aren't publicly posted, so their assistants can't be built yet. If you're an officer or steward of a local whose documents are missing and you can share the ratified text, get in touch — coverage for your members can usually be added within days.

Keep it free for the next member

Every donation keeps the lights on and the answers flowing — for the driver on the belt at 4 a.m. and the part-timer who just got written up.
